L'Oreal Colorista Spray 1-Day Color Review

Hi friends! I heard about the L'Oréal Colorista Spray 1-Day Color in a magazine ad, and I thought it looked like a really awesome product. I decided to try out the green shade for St Patrick's Day.

L'Oreal Colorista Spray 1-Day Color in #Mint40
As you can see, the color is subtle since my hair is pretty dark.

This product is super fun to use, but keep in mind that it can get a little messy. It transfers easily, so if you run your fingers through your hair they will get colored as well! The L'Oreal Colorista Spray 1-Day Color dries hard, like hairspray, and is slightly difficult to brush through. I would suggest washing your hair before trying to brush or comb through it. I tried to brush through the product myself and my brush turned green. There is a note on the back of the can saying "lastingness will vary depending on color and condition of hair". My hair is color-treated and a little damaged, and it actually took me two shampoos to wash this out completely. Overall, I quite like this product and I would definitely buy it again for a special event!

Have you tried this product yet? Are you a fan of spray on color? Thanks for stopping by! xo

DIY St Patrick's Day Banner

Hello friends! You might not know this, but I have some Irish blood in me. When I was little, my parents would take me and my sister to the St Patrick's Day parade every year. Last year was the first St Patrick's Day spent in my own house and I did absolutely nothing to celebrate... So this year I've decided to go all out! I put some decorations up two weeks ago (early, I know). I will also be baking some green themed treats (keep an eye out for those on my Instagram @meatballhead124). Today I want to show you how I made this simple and cute St Patrick's Day banner.

Here are the materials I used:
The green and orange papers are from the scrapbooking section at Michael's. The only item not pictured here are the glitter shamrocks I used for the last flag. I found them at Dollarama.

I started by cutting out six flags in the colors of the Irish flag.

These metallic Sharpies are awesome!! I practised my calligraphy skills to write out "lucky". I used the glue gun to glue the glitter shamrocks on the last flag.

Using a hole punch I made holes at the top of each flag and strung them together with twine (also from Dollarama). I created a loop at each end to tape the banner to the celling.

This project was super fun and only took me under an hour to complete. Hope you are all having a fab weekend! xo

Revlon Holochrome Collection Review

Hi loves! I recently picked up two shades from the Revlon Holochrome collection on impulse while browsing the drugstore. The gorgeous shiny packaging really caught my eye! I thought the Holochrome collection was brand new, but after a quick Google search I discovered that it was actually released last fall. So I'm a tad late, but better late than never, right? I purchased two shades from the collection: Unicornicopia and Hologasm. The collection has such cute names!

Here is Unicornicopia without flash. It's a gorgeous lavender.

And here is it with flash. You can see the holographic effect much better.

The Holochrome polishes have great staying power, probably because of the micro glitters in them (I always found that glitter nail polish rarely chips). Here is how my mani looked after five days. Not bad, eh?

Below is a Valentine's Day mani I did using Hologasm. Hologasm is a gorgeous pale silver. It's slightly sheer, so I had to use three coats. Here's how it looks without flash.

And here it is with flash. So sparkly!!

I'm extremely impressed with these polishes and I can definitely see myself wearing these a lot, especially during the summer! I think Unicornicopia would look stunning as a pedicure color. Have you tried any polishes from this collection? I'm very tempted to pick up Fairy Dust as well, it's such a lovely blue!

Thanks for reading! xo

6 Years of Blogging

Hi lovelies! Today is my blog's 6th blogiversary, and ya'll know I had to make a cake to celebrate!

I can't believe a year has already gone by since my 5th blogiversary. I haven't blogged as much this past year as previously. I have a lot less free time since becoming a homeowner, plus I have to split the free time I do have with my other hobbies. However, even if I've posted less often, I still really love my little blog and I want to keep it going. Stay tuned for a nail polish review coming up soon, and more outfits of the day once spring rolls around!

In other news, if you follow my other social media, you might have noticed that I haven't posted anything on YouTube since December. I'm just not feeling it anymore. I might make new videos in the future, but for now I'm taking a break.

Thank you to each and every person who takes the time to ready my blog! It's so thrilling interacting with you :)

Rimmel London Wonder'fully Real Mascara with Keratin

Hello lovelies! How is everyone? This is only my second post of 2018... I feel like time is flying by and I don't know where January went! I can't say I'm upset though, I mean January is a pretty blah month. I recently tried a new mascara and I really love it, so here is a review for ya'll.

I was browsing the drugstore for a new mascara a few weeks ago, and the pretty pink tube of the Rimmel London Wonder'fully Real Mascara with Keratin caught my eye. I've always been a big fan of Rimmel London mascaras. This one claims to give you "fuller, longer, luscious lashes". What's not to love about that? The keratin is supposed to give your lashes lusciousness and really build them up (keratin is the main structural part of hair, so you're basically adding hair to your lashes!). This mascara has a plastic brush which I prefer to bristle brushes. The formula is super creamy and builds my lashes effortlessly. The only downside to this mascara is that if I'm not careful, it's easy to accidentally get too much product on  my lashes which causes them to look clumped together. The trick is to be super gentle with the application. This mascara lives up to all its claims, especially the lengthening factor, and I would definitely buy it again!

Thanks for reading! Hope you all have a great week! xo

OOTD: Paradise is a State of Mind

Hi friends! How is everyone doing? I hope you all had lovely holidays. Happy New Year 2018! Now that the holidays are over, the long, cold winter is upon us. This is a dreaded time for many. I usually start feeling the winter blues in late February, but this year I've already started feeling them since mid December. Summer was very rainy and cool this year, so it feels like winter came quickly. Are any of you in the same winter blues boat? There are two choices we can take: we can let the winter blues set in, and be down for the next four months, or, we can choose to be happy regardless of the season. It may be dreary outside, but I'm not going to let that kill my vibe. After all, summer will be back before we know it. I'm choosing to be happy on purpose! I've been listening to a lot of mindfulness teachers on YouTube over the past few months, and I feel like they've really helped transform my thoughts. Here is a quote I really love from Michael A. Singer:

I'm choosing to be happy regardless the weather, and regardless of my circumstances. Paradise really is a state of mind.
Dress: H&M
Cami: H&M
Leggings: Garage
Shoes: Truffle
Earrings: H&M
Belt: Forever 21

Here's to a fabulous 2018! Choose to be happy! :)
