DIY Starbucks Drink Halloween Costume

Happy Halloween to all my basic girls! I'm so excited to share my DIY Starbucks drink costume with you! I have been slowly planning this costume since last year, when I stumbled on the idea while browsing Pinterest. I had so much fun putting it together.

Supplies needed:
-Beige t-shirt dress (I got mine on Amazon)
-Green and white fabric (I bought the cheapest tank tops I could find at a thrift store and cut them up)
-Scissors
-Chalk
-Fabric glue (I used Fabric Fusion, I found it at Walmart)
-Scotch tape
-Glue gun
-White shimmery ribbon (I got this at Dollarama)
-Fabric Markers (you can find these at craft stores)
-Silver glitter nail polish (optional)
-Black leggings to wear with the dress
Method:
Using a large bowl, trace a circle with the chalk for the Starbucks logo on the green fabric (1). Cut out your circle and tape it to your work area so it stays in place while you draw. Place your white fabric over the green circle and draw the Starbucks siren (2). Draw the siren's face on a small piece of green fabric. I drew the siren freehand and made her simpler than the original version. You can also print a Starbucks logo and trace over it. Cut all the pieces of the siren out, and glue them to the green circle using fabric glue (3). I placed a tea towel on my table before doing this, since the fabric I used was thin and I didn't want to get glue on my table. Next, glue the Starbucks logo to your dress. Once you give it time to dry, flip your dress over and draw the drink customisation boxes using a fabric marker (4).

To make the "foam" or "whipped cream", I used shimmery white ribbon and glued it to the dress with a glue gun. I simply cut many small pieces and folded them into loops, them glued the loops to the dress. I used a glue gun for this instead of the fabric glue, since the ribbon I used was a thin mesh and the fabric glue wasn't holding well. It's not very clear in the picture, but there were blobs of glue showing through the ribbon, so I used silver glitter nail polish to cover them up. You can't go wrong with glitter, right?

I can't wait to wear this dress to work on Halloween day! Are you dressing up for Halloween? Let me know what your costume is!

Vegan Pumpkin Ice Cream

Hello lovelies! Ice cream may not be the first thing that comes to mind when you think about fall, but I'm an ice cream addict and I love indulging all year long. The idea for pumpkin ice cream came to me when my mom, who is trying to cut back on dairy, made herself vegan turmeric ice cream using coconut milk and coconut yogurt. I decided to alternate the recipe and make pumpkin ice cream, and it turned out very yummy! The texture is different from traditional ice cream, it's icier. I used a blender to make this, but if you use an ice cream churner, the consistency would definitely be lighter. Either way, the flavor was perfectly autumn. I added some food coloring to make my ice cream orange (otherwise it was white with only a tiny hint of pale orange). If you want to keep it more natural, skip the food coloring.
Vegan Pumpkin Ice Cream

Ingredients:
-1 14 oz can of coconut milk
-3/4 cup coconut yogurt
-1/4 cup maple syrup
-3/4 cup pumpkin puree
-2 tsp pumpkin spice
-red and yellow food coloring (optional)

Directions:
Add everything into a blender and blend away! Pour the mixture into a tray lined with parchment paper. Freeze for at least 5 hours before serving. If desired, garnish with more pumpkin spice and pumpkin candies. Enjoy!

Happy #pumpkinspiceeverything season!

OOTD: Oversized Mustard Cardigan

Hello friends! How was your weekend? It was pretty cloudy this Saturday, and it's been raining on and off all day today. To be honest, I don't mind cloudy or rainy days in the fall, since they make me feel more cosy. I get that comfort food, warm pyjamas, fuzzy slippers feeling, ya know? Since I knew this weekend wouldn't be ideal for taking blog pictures, my boyfriend helped me quickly take these pictures Thursday evening before the sun set. I got the oversized cardigan from Forever 21 on sale a while back, and I had been saving it for when the leaves changed colors.

Fall OOTD: Grey Mini Dress and Mauve Leggings

Hello friends! I hope you are all enjoying autumn so far! We had a little heat wave in my area earlier this week, but the weather turned very fall-like this weekend. I went for a long nature walk with Simon yesterday. I was able to wear a mini dress I got on clearance from Forever 21 this summer which I had been saving for cooler days. The dress is suuuuper short on me, so I really had no choice to pair it with leggings. If you're a shorter girl, you may be able to wear it with nylons for a risqué look.

Mini Dress: Forever 21
Leggings: Garage

Wishing you all a great week! Thanks for stopping by! xo
