Find Your Happiness: Tips for Reducing Everyday Stress

Hello loves! Today I wanted to share my tips on controlling stress and anxiety, whether they be caused by big problems or everyday annoyances. Personally, I struggle with over-planning, and planning ahead for things that are very far in advance. I worry about trivial details; like what I will wear for a certain appointment, what time I will take my shower (seriously), how much time I will have to get everything I need to done. I sometimes feel like my mind is constantly racing and trying so hard to figure everything out. Then I get anxious when things don’t go exactly as I planned. I’ve learned it’s important to be flexible! I can’t allow silly situations to steal my happiness. Whenever I feel myself getting worked up over a situation I stop and ask myself: “Okay, is this situation really worth all this stress? Is my worrying useful?”. I change my perspective and slow down. I find it really helps to take a deep breath and do one thing at a time. Try not to over-think things that are weeks in advance; focus your energy on today. This can also apply to big problems: when things go wrong, remember that there is no problem you have that God doesn’t have the answer to. Take things one day at a time and don’t let circumstances steal your joy. Stay determined and know that things will get better.

Something that really helps me is taking time each day to fill my spirit with positivity. I love listening to Joel Osteen. His messages are so inspiring, and his voice is really soothing! I also enjoy reading motivational quotes on Pinterest. I find it’s important to do this everyday, and not just when I’m having a bad day. Building up my spirit with positivity makes me stronger to face the bad days! Even if you’re really busy, take 15 minutes a day to feed your spirit with positive words.

Thank you so much for reading and stay positive! xo
