Project Pan 2016: Perfume Samples! Update #1

Hello lovely readers! I'm excited to show you my first update from my perfume sample project pan! It's already been two months since I began this project (see my original post here). I have made great progress on some scents, and very little progress on others. Let's begin with the great progress:
 From left to right:
-Pure by DKNY (X2)
-Beauty by Calvin Klein
-Cherry in the Air by Escada
-Euphoria by Calvin Klein (X2)
-Candy by Prada
-Oh Lola! by Marc Jacobs
-Peace Love and Juicy Couture by Juicy Couture

The top lines are where I began, and I've drawn on a second line to mark my progress as of today. Some of them will soon be empty!!

Now moving on to the slow progress:
From left to right:
-Daisy by Marc Jacobs
-Dreams Unlimited by The Body Shop
-White Musk by The Body Shop
-Armani Code by Giorgio Armani
-Lovestruck by Vera Wang

These scents are either not really in season or just not my favorite at the moment, so I haven't used them much (or at all to be honest!). I will need to make some progress on them before my next update.

Finally, here are my deluxe size samples:
From left to right:
-Hello by Harvey Prince
-Infusion D'Iris by Prada
-Pure by DKNY
-Honey by Marc Jacobs
-Miss Dior by Christian Dior
-Pivoine Flora by L'Occitane
-Chloé by Chloé

I barely used these during the last month so I will need to focus on them during the next few weeks! I do really love some of the scents, I just tend to use the minis more.

Here are my favorites from the bunch, which I've been using tons, and why I love them so much:
-Pure by DKNY is a light, clean everyday scent. I like wearing it to work.
-Euphoria by Calvin Klein is very musky and sensual.
-Candy by Prada is just so yummy and feminine.
-Cherry in the Air by Escada has a perfect, not-too-sweet cherry candy scent.

NOTD: Blue Chevron Press On Nails

Hello lovelies! Today's nails are press on nails again. I just feel so fabulous when I wear them! This manicure was also the first time I attempted painting chevron nails. I used tape to make these, but I recently ordered some rolls of pretty nail tape on EBay for future designs.
I measured which sizes fit me best so I only painted the nails I needed.

Polishes used:
-Essie nail polish in "Barbados Blue"
-Avon Gel Finish 7-in-1 nail enamel in "Royal Vendetta"
-Love & Beauty by Forever 21 Nail Color blue glitter polish (it doesn't have a name)
-Pro-FX Complete 3 topcoat (not shown).

Are you a fan of chevron nails? Thanks for stopping by! xo

OOTD: Black on Black on Black

Hello lovelies! Today was an absolutely gorgeous spring day. I spent the late morning and early afternoon strolling down-town with my boyfriend. The beginning of April has been cold and glum here in Ottawa, so many people took advantage of today's sunny 21 degrees celcius to shed their warm clothes and bask in the sun! I was so excited to be able to wear a crop top!!
 Shirt: Soulstar (thrifted)
Crop top: H&M
Jeans: Urban Planet (I distressed them myself!)
Shoes: Converse
Sunglasses: Forever 21

I hope you all had an amazing weekend! Thanks for stopping by! xo

NOTD: Pink & Silver Hand Painted Press On Nails

Hello loves! I'm really excited to share my mani with you today! The design isn't super complicated or anything, but the reason they are special to me is because it's the FIRST time I wear press on nails! Crazy right? I've been hand painting and selling them on Etsy for almost three years, but I've never tried them myself before now. I'm so happy I finally gave them a try! Here are some of the pros to wearing press on nails:

  • Painting the press on nails is so much easier than painting your own nails (you don't have to worry about using your non-dominant hand!).
  • Press on nails require minimal dry-time (there is a lot dry-time for painting the press on nails of course, but there is very little dry-time when applying them!).
  • The nails are customizable to any length or shape.
  • No chips, and NO SHEET MARKS!!
Yes you read that right, press on nails do not chip! I applied them during the evening of Thursday, April 7 and since then I've done the dishes numerous times, I've washed my hair and I've done other household chores and there is not a single chip in sight! However, on two occasions my thumbnail popped off on it's own. I carry my nail glue in my purse with me, so I can discretely glue  the nail back in place.
I purchased the press on nails from Ebay. For this mani I used Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear nail polish in "Giant Peach", OPI nail lacquer in "Give Me the Moon!" and lots of loose glitter!

These are the sizes I used. I love these sets of 20 nails, you're guaranteed to find your size! The glue I used to apply the nails is the Nailene Ultra Quick Brush On glue. The setting time is 5 seconds per nail so I was able to apply my whole manicure in under 3 minutes!

This is what my mani looked like before trimming and sizing the nails. I love this length but I wanted something slightly more natural for my first press on nail experience!
Here are my nails after being trimmed and filed. I think they almost look natural!

The only con I noticed about wearing press on nails is the slightly awkward feeling I got when I first applied them. I felt like I had to be super cautious so they wouldn't break off. I typed really carefully at first, and was careful with my movements in general. However, the awkward feeling went away after a few hours and I'm typing this blog post completely normally. I'm really impressed with the Nailene glue!

Are you a fan of press on nails? I will definitely wear them again and still can't believe I waited this long to try them! If you are interested in seeing my Etsy shop, click here. Thanks for reading! xo

Skintimate Moisturizing Shave Gel

Hello beauties! Is shave gel a weird topic to blog about? I just really enjoy using the Skintimate shave gel range, so I decided to share my thoughts about it with you. I used to be a lazy girl who would skip shave gel altogether, you see. I thought using the razors with built-in moisturizing bars in combination with soap and water was enough. I was very wrong! My poor legs suffered major razor rash and I felt like I could never get a super close shave. I finally decided to try shave gels, and my legs are super thankful! I've tried a few brands, but Skintimate is my favourite. The formula contains Vitamin E and olive butter which really help make my legs smoother. I've noticed that the hair takes longer to grow back as well. The Skintimate range offer a variety of amazing scents (above are Mandarin Burst and Island Berry Breeze, and yes, they do smell as yummy as they sound!). Not to mention that the gel is really fun to use (yes I'm a big kid).

What are your shaving must-haves? Thanks for reading! xo
