Happy New Year 2017!

Hi friends! I wanted to take the time to wish you all a very happy and blessed New Year 2017. I like to look back on everything I've accomplished in the past year before the New Year begins. In 2016, I accomplished my goal of getting a new job and purchasing a house with Simon. I also lost a bit more weight and got a little more toned. Although 2016 was not perfect, I've been extremely fortunate and feel very blessed.

My goals for 2017 are to work on remaining calm when I'm feeling overwhelmed at work or even at home. I feel as though I've worked really hard at controlling my anxiety in the past few years but there is always room for improvement!

What are you proud of for 2016, and what are your goals for 2017? Thanks for reading, and God bless! xo

NOTD: Mercedes by Julep

Hi friends! I hope you are all having a relaxing holiday season! I received "Mercedes" by Julep as a Christmas gift from my sister, and since I haven't painted my nails in so long, I was eager to try it. It's a stunning bronze color full of gorgeous silver flecks. "Mercedes" goes on super glossy and opaque. It's a great option if you're in the mood for a neutral color that will match with everything, but still want that extra wow factor.

Thanks for stopping by! xo

Shimmery Winter Eyes

Hi friends! Happy December! I decided to take some extra time to do my eye makeup this morning since it seems lately the only time I get to play with my eyeshadows is on the weekend. I start work very early in the morning so some days I only wear mascara, what a shame! Work has been crazy busy lately, and it felt great to have some "me" time today! I wanted to create a super shimmery, frosty winter look.

Products used:
-Urban Decay palette (I'm not sure if you can get this one anymore. I've had it forever and I don't remember the name of it!!) I used "Scratch", "Underground" and "Zero".
-Avon Eyeshadow single in "Light Golden Peach"
Essence Eyeshadow single in "Chill Out"

I first used the Avon shadow as a base, then layered on the Urban Decay shadows. I used just a little bit of the Essence shadow as a highlight under my brows and in the inner corners of my eyes.

Are you getting excited for the holidays? I've been slowly putting up more and more Christmas decorations in my house! The more the merrier, right?

Thanks for stopping by! xo

Exploring Downtown Toronto

Hi friends! I am currently sitting comfortably on the train on my way home from a lovely and relaxing weekend trip to Toronto. It was much needed after a super busy past few weeks planning our move, and actually moving! It was my second time visiting Toronto. I went for the first time in late August with my girlfriends. While we explored many areas in the GTA, we didn't spend much time downtown. This time I went with Simon and we spent the whole weekend downtown. We stayed in an Airbnb right on Yonge Street with a great view. We visited the CN tower, the Eaton Centre, St. Lawrence Market, the Harbour, and City Hall. I had so much fun!

I will be sharing DIYs and house related content here and on my YouTube channel soon, so stay tuned! I hope you all had a relaxing weekend! xo

Sunday Adventures at Upper Canada Village

Hello friends! Steph and I drove down to meet Alicia in Upper Canada Village today where we spent the afternoon admiring the monuments and gorgeous views. In the evening, we visited Upper Canada Village's wicked pumpkin light exhibition called the Pumpkin Inferno. There are thousands of carved pumpkins arranged beautifully in different themed exhibits. We had a really great time!

I hope you all had a happy Sunday! Thanks for stopping by! xo

Autumn Eyes

Happy Saturday friends! It's been quite a hectic week for me. Simon and I recently found out that our closing date has moved forward to November 3 instead of December 1. While we are super thrilled, we are also scrambling to get everything ready for our move! This week consisted in a lot of shopping, deciding which insurance providers we would use and planning our move itself. I was quite tired this week and woke up very late most days. I only had time to slap on mascara and foundation most mornings, so today it felt great to take my time and create an orange autumn inspired eye look.

I used different shades of orange, red, and a touch black eyeshadow from the Coastal Scents Mirage Palette to create this look. The eyeliner I used is the Benefit BADgal Waterproof Eyeliner pencil.

How has everyone's week been? I'm off to continue cleaning and sorting my room (when you move you really realize how much stuff you've accumulated!! Am I a hoarder?) Talk to you soon! xo

Sightseeing in Prince Edward County

Hello lovely readers! Happy Thanksgiving to my Canadian friends! It's a long weekend here and I'm spending it at the cottage with my parents. Coming to the cottage means relaxing, enjoying nature's beauty and catching up on my sleep! It also gives me a chance to spend time with one of my best friends, Alicia, who lives very close to the cottage (as opposed to 3 hours away from Ottawa!). We spent the day together yesterday driving around enjoying the beautiful fall scenery, and visiting whatever grabbed our attention along the way.

Lake on the Mountain Provincial Park
Pretty county road
Artisan Cheese Co.
Creasy's Apple Dabble Farm
Ruthford Stevens Lookout

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend and thanks for stopping by! xo
