OOTD: Formal Dinner :)

Hello loves :) My boyfriend Simon is in his second year of law school and he gets to go to all kinds of fancy events. Sometimes he is allowed to bring a plus one, and I've been begging him to bring me to a fancy event forever!! My chance finally came last Friday :)
My main reason for wanting to go was for the food, not going to lie. I love eating at restaurants, and since this was a classy/formal event I knew the food would be really fancy. Also, it's fun to get dressed up!! Enjoy the photos :)
Simon in his suit (why so serious??)

My dress is from Cleo (I've had it for a few years)
We didn't even plan our outfits, good thing Simon's colors blended well with mine!!
I wore a little blazer-type jacket to be more formal. I borrowed my sister's boots from Aldo.
Simon was wearing dress shoes of course but in this photo he's in his socks :3
My clutch!! I'm not sure what the brand is, my mom gave it to me as a Christmas gift :)
Very fancy :)
Now on to the FOOD!!
I had the green papaya salad appetizer. Very yummy!
The main course was ahh-mazing!! The cod was so tender, and the broth was so rich!
It had truffle oil, can you get any fancier than that??

Julep Pomegranate Body Creme Review

Hello loves!! This is just a quick review of Julep's Pomegranate Body Creme. I received this cream in one of the Julep mystery boxes I ordered a while back. Julep is a cosmetics company that mainly focuses on nail polish but also offers other products such as mascaras, skincares products, hair products and more. You can order directly online or at one of their nail parlors, or you can sign up to be a "maven" and receive monthly boxes. They also offer themed mystery boxes every now and then which are a really great bargain!! Check them out here

The texture of this cream is extrmely thick and rich, great for very dry areas and for hands during winter!! It smells like a very sweet pomegranate. The cream is quickly absorbed and feels quite hydrating.  I also like the little jar it comes in; very simple and cute with the big font and pomegranate picture.

This pomegranate cream is retailed at $18.00 USD on their website.  I'm not sure I would have ever tried it at that price, it's only a 4 ounce jar!! But I'm really happy to have received it in my mystery box. The mystery boxes are $25.00 plus shipping, and you receive 4 polishes and a few surprises.  That being said I received this cream for a steal!!!

Have you tried this cream or any Julep products?? Thanks for reading!! xo

Olay CC Cream Review

Hello loves :) I received this Olay CC cream in my summer Luxebox. I was really excited to try it, seeing how much I enjoy BB creams.  I absolutely love it. It gives me just enough coverage and I appreciate that it's a bit darker than my actual skin tone (I'm so pale!!).  I also really like the added SPF 15, it saves me the suncreen step.
Pretty swirls!!
I apply it all over my face and neck with a foundation brush, then just dab some concealer over it under my eyes and on problem areas.  Finally I add setting powder to prevent shine.

Here I am with just the CC cream.

This is after I've added the concealer and powder :)
I have a crap camera but there is very little difference. The CC cream gives great coverage! :)

Have you tried this product yet?? Thanks for reading!! xo

If I Was A Rich Girl--Fall 2013 Wishlist

Hello loves!  I've been seeing so many nice clothes online for the upcoming fall season! Unfortunately, I've put myself on a somewhat strict no buy regimen (Of course I say this but I will still shop. There are always essentials!! But I am trying really hard to cut back!).  I need to save up money so I can eventually buy a house of my own.  So for now I can only dream, and I decided to share my fall picks with you :) We can window shop together!!

Fall Trend: Nude Pink Nails

Hi everyone!! I noticed in my August issue of Elle Canada that nude pink nails were a big hit for fall 2013.  I've had a nude pink polish in collection for a while and never really wore it.  Well now is the perfect opportunity!! I love nude nails: you look polished and put together without standing out too much.  A very professional look, in my opinion.

Here is "Eternal Optimist" by Essie:

What is your take on nude nails?? Thanks for reading!! xo
