Yves Rocher Shine Mask Review

Hi everyone! Over two months ago, I received this "SOS Shine Mask Botanical Mattifying Mask" free from Yves Rocher as a gift with purchase.  At first I was a little hesitant to use it for fear of it making me break out (I do have sensitive skin) but decided it deserved a try.  I was pleasantly surprised! The mask is a traditional green color, and has a gritty texture (not painful!).  After applying it, the wearer must alow 5-10 minutes for the mask to dry completely, and rinse it away with water.  When the mask is completely dry my skin was left feeling tight, but once I rinsed my face, my skin felt fresh and soft.  The mask rinses away very easily.

The results are AMAZING! I have the misfortune of having a very oily T-zone.  I don't get large pimples but many black/white heads.  They are usually easy to cover up with makeup but still annoying.  This mask really helped reduce the shininess of my forehead!  The effects last about 2 weeks, then I must re-use the mask.  It saves me from constantly appliying more powder or using bottling paper (just a pain in general!).  The mask retails for $19.00 CDN but it does last a long time, since it isn't necessary to use it more than twice a month.  Totally worth the price in my opinion!

Fun Winter OOTD: Pleated Skirt

Hi everyone! Here is a fun and dressy outfit I wore to uni this week.  I thought it would be fun to edit the photos a little :) I used the Ribbet photo editing website; you can check it out here.  Hope you enjoy!!

Sweater: Jacob
Boots: Payless
Skirt: Forever 21(it has polka dots! But they are tiny and
my photo is bad quality so you'll have to imagine them!)

Close-up of me :D

I wore my everyday side braid updo.  I have a tutorial here if you're interested ;)

My earrings are from Avon.  I've had these for a few years now
so I don't think they are still available :3

I'm wearing Essie nail polish in "Lilacism" with some Love and Beauty by
Forever 21 glitter polish in "Turquoise Glitter" over my thumb and ring finger nails.
The heart ring is also from Forever 21!

The Fashion Tag!!

I was tagged to do this by my lovely friend Amber! Check out her awesome blog here!!  Let’s get started:

       1. How would you describe your style?

Casual chic? I like to think I’m not boring (i.e. I never wear just jeans and a T-shirt… In fact I try to stay away from T-shirts, they are soooooo boring to me!) But what I wear is still considered casual, I can’t call it formal… Maybe preppy is the right word? :)

2. What are your wardrobe staples?

SKINNY JEANS, cute blouses, cardigans, tank tops, pretty flats & sandals!!

3. Most expensive item in your closet?

My Lacoste sweater!  Here is picture of me in it, with my boyfriend :) The lighting was dim in the restaurant so the colors are a bit off.  The sweater is a lighter yellow.  My boyfriend is also wearing Lacoste. TWINSIES!!  I got it on sale for $100; its original price was $150!
 4. Most wanted item?

Hmmm there are a few items I’ve been lusting after.  I really want lace pieces! Lace dress, lace shorts, a lace skirt… I saw an adorable lace shirt in Forever 21 but I was too broke to pick it up… Maybe next payday ;)

5. Favourite designer?

Micheal Kors, although I only own his Daisy perfume!

6. How much do you spend on clothes?

Oh boy time to come clean… A LOT.  Right now I’m trying to be good but I’m constantly shopping… Probably at least $75 a month!

7. What are your favourite stores to shop at?

I LOVE GARAGE.  They always have such cute tops and accessories.  I also love Bluenotes for their Jeans.  And how could I forget Forever 21? :)

8. Favourite fragrance?

Currently it’s Lovestruck by Vera Wang, but that could change depending on the season/my mood!

9. What's your favourite way to do your hair?

I love wearing it straight with a side part. I braid a small section and pin it to the side to keep my hair out of my face.

10. What is your go-to outfit when you have no idea what to wear?

Excuse me? I always plan my outfit out the night ahead.  I’m constantly daydreaming of what I will wear the next day.  BUT if I do happen to be unprepared… skinny jeans, a cute tank and a cardigan!

11. One fashion trend you wish would come back or stay?

Last summer I hated crop tops.  I hear they will be in again this spring and I’ve changed my mind about them… Can’t wait to wear one actually! :)

12. Show us your most prized possession in your wardrobe.

I love this little Garage dress.  It’s so versatile.  I wear it with a cardigan in the summer, or throw a sweater over it in the fall.

13. Tag some people.

I tag: Julz’Obsessions (Julianne), Little Pretty Things (Kerri Jane), Islaay, and Tin of Treats (Rachel Elizabeth)!

Flashy Turquoise Eyeliner :)

Hi everyone :) I purchased this Amuse eyeshadow palette from Cherry Culture during November.  I was a bit worried about the quality, since it was SUPER cheap (Under $5.00 CDN but I can't remember the exact price).  However I was pleasantly surprised! The color payoff is great and the shadows don't crease.  Here is a simple but fun look I created using the bright turquoise from the palette; hope you enjoy!

As a base color, I used a shimmery beige shadow from my Maybelline EyeStudio Palette in "Caffeine Rush" (this palette comes with 5 colors, but the individual colors don't have names).  Then I used an angle brush dipped in water (I used the cap of my water bottle!) to make the turquoise easier to work with.  The turquoise lasted all day without fading.  Next time you shop on Cherry Culture, keep an eye out for this bargain palette! :)

NOTD: Pastel Purple With Glitter Accents

Hi loves :) I just wanted to share my nails of the day with you! They are super simple but still eye-catching ;)

Polishes used, from left to right:
-Love and Beauty by Forever 21 in "Turquoise Glitter"
-Essie nail polish in "Lilacism"
-L.A. Colors Color Craze in "Voltage"

My friend Amanda gave me the Essie polish as a Christmas present. I love it! It's such a pretty pastel and I have nothing similar to it in my collection.  I've already mentionned the Love and Beauty glitter polish in another post but I like it so much I had to mention it again.  Chunky glitters are so fun :)

New Purse!!

Hey everyone! I was browsing online stores during the boxing week sales and I came across a super adorable purse on Call It Spring.  I was already on the lookout for a new purse and it was on sale for $17.50 CDN so I couldn't resist!  I also purchased a bracelet set which was on sale for $11.98 CDN (you can never have too many cute bracelets!).  These sales were exclusive to online customers.  This was my first time shopping online at Call It Spring and I was very impressed with their low shipping costs and very speedy delievery! I will definitely be shopping online with them again! :)

The purse is a pretty taupe color: it goes with everything!
It also has many pockets to organize my things :)

The inside has adorable polka-dots :)

All these gorgeous bracelets were part of the set.

Have you ever shopped online with Call It Spring? Thanks for reading! xo

Hello Kitty Nail Stickers :)

Hi loves :) I just wanted to share these super adorable Hello Kitty nails with you.  They are SO easy to do! All you need is a background color, Hello Kitty nail stickers, and a topcoat.  If you want, you could add some dot accents like I did but if ou're in a rush and don't have time for that extra step the stickers alone are great!

Polishes from left to right:
-L.A. Colors Color Craze nail polish with hardeners inn "Voltage"
-Essie nail polish in "Tour De Finance"
-Essie nail polish in "Beyond Cozy"

I purcharsed my Hello Kitty stickers on Ebay.  They were super affordable.  The only downside is waiting for them to arrive at your house, but honestly, in my experience, the wait is so worth it.  Nail stickers and decals can be quite pricey in stores, even in drug stores.  Ebay also has a much wider selection, so save your money! :)

Tiny Haul :)

Happy 2013 everyone!! What better way to celebrate than to shop?! I popped in the mall with my friend today, but we are still quite broke from Christmas shopping so not much was purchased. I did need a new wallet so I got one. Bath and Body Works was having an fantastic sale so I couldn't resist picking a few items up. You can never have too many body lotions or shower gels!!

I bought this wallet at Ardene.  It was only $10.  It has many card holders inside
and a zipper compartment, so I like it :)

The minis at Bath and Body Works were 3/$5.  Amazing right?
From left: -Secret Wonderland Shea Enriched Shower Gel (I'm saving it for a giveaway, wink, wink!)
-Cherry Blossom Fragrance Mist
-Midnight Pomegranate Body Lotion
These full size bottles were on special for $4 each!!!
From left: -Paris in Bloom Body Lotion (I used some after my shower... it's so soft and feminine!)
-Black Raspberry Shea Enriched Shower Gel (This smells like candy!)

When I arrived home from the mall a surprise was waiting for me in the mail box.  The lovely Julianne sent me a Christmas card and made me an ornament.  It's sooooo adorable :) Thanks so much Julianne!!  Check out her blog here: http://julzobsessions.blogspot.ca/

Thank you for reading!! Wishing everyone a great 2013!! xo
